Cost of Studying & Living

Australia offers students excellent value for money, with living expenses and tuition fees being considerably lower then the UK and the USA.


Tuition Fees

Tuition fees vary between Institutions and are dependant on the level and course of study. International students are charged up-front tuition fees. Some general examples are as follow:

 
Primary/Secondary School A$ 5,000 – 13,000 a year
Foundation Studies A$ 9,000 – 14,000 a year
Certificate I – IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma A$ 5,500 – 18,000 a year
Bachelors Degree (Arts/Business/Law) A$ 10,000 – 13,500 a year
Bachelors Degree (Science & Engineering) A$ 11,000 – 16,500 a year
Masters/Doctoral Degree A$ 11,000 – 18,500 a year
English Language Training A$ 3,500 – 16,000 a year

Health insurance

All international students are required to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their study in Australia. This is paid at least 1 year in advance and then renewed annually. The current rate for OSHC is approximately A$ 350 a year.
